Sustainable Community Strategy 2009-2026
The refreshed Sustainable Community Strategy (SCS) 2009 - 2026 was given full Council approval on the 10th September. The SCS sets out a sustainable vision for the area and highlights a number of key challenges facing us now and in the coming years. Six theme chapters are included in the strategy:
- Economic Development & Enterprise
- Environmental Sustainability & Climate Change
- Children & Young People
- Health & Well-being
- Stronger Communities
- Safer Communities
Each chapter sets out how the issues for the area will be addressed and will provide an overview of how Bath & North East Somerset will develop. The SCS is the umbrella strategy for the area and will help provide the vision of how the area will be a distinctive place, with vibrant sustainable communities where everyone fulfils their potential.
The LSP began the process of developing the Sustainable Community Strategy at the Annual Conference in November 2008. Subsequently several consultation events have taken place with the LSP and this has aided the development of the Strategy.
The LSP's on-line communities are funded and supported by Bath & North East Somerset Council.
